Ryan Tannehill facing backlash after telling reporters it is not his job to mentor rookie Malik Willis

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill told reporters this week it is not his job to mentor rookie quarterback Malik Willis.

The Tennessee Titans wisely used a draft pick to select Liberty quarterback Malik Willis in third round and when Tannehill was asked by reporters if he plans to mentor the rookie, he said that is not his job.

This what Tannehill said, and while many may say it was blown out of proportion, Shady has a valid point as well.

“We’re competing against each other. We’re watching the same tape and doing the same drills,” Tannehill said. “I don’t think it’s my job to mentor him, but if he learns from me along the way then that’s a great thing.”

Tannehill has been taking some backlash from that comment, and Shady McCoy called him out for his comment.

Shady was not the only one who took at shot at Tannehill. Kurt Warner did as well.

Tannehill is the starting quarterback right now, but if he starts to struggle, he better be ready because I have a feeling Malik Willis will be ready.
