Former Florida High School football player among two that were killed in car accident near The Villages
Xander Babcock was a former linebacker for the Leesburg High School football team that was tragically killed in a car accident over the weekend.
According to reports, Babcock was driving a 2013 Hyundai Elantra with four people in his vehicle when it struck a curb, hit several barricades and went into a ditch and overturned.
The driver and two back seat passengers were ejected from the vehicle. Babcock the driver and a 17-year old passenger from Leesburg, both died at the scene. The other two in the vehicle a 15-year-old and 16-year-old were both rushed to the hospital for evaluation. The 15-year-old is in critical condition.
Officers are still in the process of notifying the families.
Xander was number 54 on the Leesburg Yellow Jackets football team. Please keep the families in your prayers during this tough time.
