Joe Burrow and the Bengals have been the underdog quite a bit in the NFL this year. They seem to always rise to the occasion though. They will have their toughest test of the year though. The Bengals have to take on the Los Angeles Rams at their house!
Yes, for the second time in two years the team hosting the Super Bowl will get to have homefield advantage. The Rams are favored when it comes to the odds on who will win the Super Bowl. Right now the Rams are -195, while the Bengals are +165.
I personally feel the Bengals can shock the Rams. It is really hard to buy a Championship. Here me out. Whenever a team has tried to put together a bunch of veterans and chase the Lombardi Trophy it always seem to blow up in their face. The Rams are all in this year to win the Super Bowl. They went out and traded away their future to obtain players like Von Miller, Odell Beckham Jr., Sony Michel and QB Matthew Stafford.
I mean the Rams have made 21 trades involving players in the past four years. They have landed some amazing players on their roster, but I have never seen it happen where a team that traded for all the solid players wins.
I honestly love to see a team built through the draft, and when you look at the Bengals that is the team. That is how the NFL was created. The Bengals have rookies all over the place including the kicker position. If the Bengals want to win, they are going to have to protect Joe Burrow. Burrow has been sacked more than any quarterback in the NFL. Last week the Bengals offensive line was able to rise up to the challenge, but the week before when the Bengals played the Titans Burrow was sacked 9 times.
If the Bengals want to win they have to keep Burrow standing upright and run the ball effectively. Sean McVay could turn the NFL upside down if the Rams win it all. The Rams head coach has basically said “F” the draft picks, and has been able to take his team to the Super Bowl. If the Rams win it all, do not be surprised if other teams begin to follow suit!
