Former star University of Pittsburgh football players son killed in Pennsylvania
A 25-year-old son of a star University of Pittsburgh football player was killed, and a woman and child were injured when they were shot multiple times inside a vehicle Thursday.
Jason Chavis was the victim of the shooting. Chavis’ father, was a former star football player at McKeesport High School and at the University of Pittsburgh. His name was also Jason and he was a linebacker for the Panthers.
Allegheny County Police said officials found the victims in a vehicle the 200 block of East 16th Avenue in Homestead after a Homestead police officer heard multiple gunshots around 11:30 p.m.
They were transported to hospitals in critical condition.
