Lovie Smith would like to take care of the Deshaun Watson situation as soon as possible

Lovie Smith is the new guy in town right now for the Houston Texans and it sounds like the first thing on his agenda is handling the Deshaun Watson situation. Smith told The MMQB’s Albert Breer he wants the matter resolved “as soon as possible”:
“I’m not running away from the question, but as soon as possible. There are things that need to be taken care of before the football part comes into play. We’re patient, we’ve waited an entire year and I just feel like this offseason, it’ll come to an end and we’ll get it solved and it’ll be good for both parties, whatever that might be. There’s no other answer to give right now except for that one, and we’re going to try to get it resolved as soon as we possibly can.”
Watson is facing 22 lawsuits right now tying him to allegations of sexual assault and misconduct. Ten of the women who have filed suits also have filed criminal complaints.
The NFL has not suspended Watson yet, and I doubt they will until something happens and he is either found guilty or walks away clean.
There have been many teams showing interest, and yesterday there were rumors that the Buccaneers have been doing their homework on Watson. With Brady retiring, they have an opening. It will be interesting to see what happens next, but it sounds like Watson will definitely be on another team moving forward.
