What are your favorite moments from your football life?
I have been to a few schools so traveling the USA and each team played different opponents, so traveling to their fields. Also winning back to back conference championships and getting rings with Tiffin University.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
Aaron Donald, I would want to do on field training with him, gym workouts, film study and just talk to him about the position he is in and how/what it took for him to get there.
What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
Ever since I knew what a ball was I wanted to play, I started flag football in preschool and never looked back. I enjoyed it so much I moved up to tackle league a year early to start playing “real” football.
What sets you apart from other defensive linemen?
I’m a player who has came though adversity. From going to Juco, playing at Tiffin University, to taking my grad year at Ohio Dominican University, I have been coached by many different coach’s and styles and have learned a lot from them.
If there was a billboard with 5 of your traits on it which 5 traits would be up there?
- Effort, every time I step on the field.
- Compete, I will always be working to better myself on that moment.
- Physical, I come hard off the line with my eyes, hands and feet ready to attack.
- IQ, I like to scan the backfield and set up what I think is going to happen pre snap so I am already faster.
- Energy, I’ll bring great positive energy everywhere I go.
How are you planning to prepare for the draft?
A. I just recently played in my senior bowl game “ the Dream Bowl “ which gave me great opportunity to put on my talents. Now I am currently training at KSM Sports in Columbus, Ohio to prepare for the draft.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
I am always looking to better my craft, on the field, in the weight room and in the film room. With all this I want to become an elite level player.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
On the field I take on everything head on knowing I put the work in and know what’s coming, I come out with heart and passion to be there. Off the field I’m a relentless worker, a team player and will support the decisions to get the job done.
What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?
I bring relentless passion and great vibes. I want to be there, as well as coach up players if I know I’m correct on the aspect. I enjoy the learning aspect of the game and take it all in.
What would a team get in a player like you?
When looking at me you will see someone who is able to adapt and change on the fly. I will always come ready to work and with uptempo energy.
What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?
The keys to success are film study, being confident in your movements, being coachable, diverse player on positions, and wanting to be great.
What should we know about Chase Abel the person?
I’m an outgoing person who cares about what I’m passionate for. I’m all for trying and learning new things. I will give everything I do all I got and leave nothing behind.
