Aldon Smith drove with BAC higher than .20 before his DUI arrest | Facing three years in prison

Sometimes we cover NFL players who really have talent but just don’t get that break, and then there are times when we cover very gifted players who cannot make the most of their opportunity. Aldon Smith is one of those players. There is no question he is a gamer on the football field.
No matter where Aldon Smith has suited up he has had a knack for getting after the quarterback. What is his biggest problem though? He cannot stay out of trouble. The former Raiders pass rusher was arrested recently for DUI and prosecutors are now saying Smith was beyond drunk.
The legal limit is .08 in California and according to the San Mateo District Attorney’s Office, Smith’s Blood Alcohol Content level was greater than .20.

Prosecutors also found an open container in his car, and he had weed in the vehicle. Thankfully, the person involved in the other car was not severely injured, they walked away with minor injuries.
Smith is facing three years in prison if he is convicted on the charges.
Smith will probably find a way to get out of the sentence, but he really does need help. This is not his first DUI and after Henry Ruggs III’s accident these football players should have learned something. There are companies like Uber who can take you home. They have to learn to just catch a lift home rather than killing someone or hurting someone badly.
