NAIA Football Semifinals Match-up | Playoff Preview
Justin Berendzen (@jrberendzen on Twitter) provides his NAIA semifinals matchup preview. We have 2 very tough matchups here involving 4 teams that combined only have 1 loss.
Grand View (IA) University at Lindsey Wilson (KY) College
This one should be good 2 teams that are undefeated go at it this upcoming Saturday and 1 comes out with a loss and is out of the playoffs. Offensively for the Blue Raiders they have senior running back Jaylen Boyd who has 1,103 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns and junior wide receiver Joshua Lewis has 706 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns. Grand View’s defense has sophomore linebacker Rocky Schoenfelder who has 45 tackles, 13 TFLs and 6.5 sacks and Jianni Angulo junior defensive back who has 31 tackles, 4.5 TFLs, and 3 interceptions. The offense of Grand View has sophomore running back Ali Scott who has 983 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns and junior wide receiver Gerald Sama who has 572 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns. Lindsey Wilson’s defense has senior defensive back Robert Carter who has 34 tackles, 11 PBUs and 8 interceptions and freshman defensive back Cashawn Beasley who has 34 tackles, 4 interceptions and 3 PBUs.
Northwestern (IA) College at Morningside University
This should also be interesting as this is a rematch of the only loss Northwestern(IA) College had. Morningside’s offense has senior running back Anthony Sims who has 1,474 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns and senior receiver Reid Jurgensmeier who has 1,299 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns. Defensively for the Red Raiders they have sophomore linebacker Parker Fryar who has 92 tackles, 5 TFLs and 4 PBUs and senior defensive back Noah Van’t Hof who has 69 tackles and 4 PBUs and redshirt sophomore defensive back Jaden Snyder who has 29 tackles, 7 PBUs and 7 interceptions. Offensively for Northwestern they have senior wide receiver Cade Moser who has 1,375 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns in 2021. For the Mustangs defensively they have senior linebacker Tyler Wingert who has 126 tackles,17.5 TFLs, 6.5 sacks and 3 PBUs and sophomore linebacker Issac Pingel who has 55 tackles, 8.5 TFLs and 4 PBUs.
