Can you believe what Shelley Meyer, wife of Urban Meyer said?

Shelley Meyer makes a statement after her husband made a mistake of going out and dancing with another female.

“We all make mistakes – we are all sinners,” said Shelley Meyer, who is the wife of Jaguars’ head coach, Urban Meyer. “If you think you aren’t? Then cast the first stone.”

I applaud you Mrs. Meyer, for you have preached the most powerful sermon in America this weekend. Being human myself, I am sure it is not easy coming out and saying this and showing this kind of support to your husband. I applaud you and I praise God for giving you the strength and the courage to speak the truth.

We have two choices right now as a sports community. We can follow the words of Mrs. Meyer or we can continue on with the ageless practice of hypocritically throwing stones at those who sin.

As a man who has had struggled committing infidelities to one extent or another in all three of my marriages, I choose to agree with Mrs. Meyer.

I am tired of the worn out ageless practice of condemning those who are caught in something. I am tired of living in a country that seems like it was founded upon the Old Testament and not upon the New Testament. I am tired of watching pastors, coaches, and every other type of person getting run out of town on a rail every time we find out these people are also human.

This sort of self-righteous bullshit solves nothing and there is no place for that type of preaching any longer in the American Church. As an ordained preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by God Himself, I am calling for this country to start preaching the kind of Christianity it is supposedly founded upon.

I am calling for an outpouring of love, mercy and forgiveness to be directed towards Urban Meyer. If his wife can do it, we need to follow her example. I want to start seeing articles from every major media outlet in America showing words of love towards him instead of words of rejection and condemnation.

Urban Meyer has expressed genuine remorse for his actions. Now it is time for the rest of us to gently restore him to his rightful and respected place, as the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It is time for all of us to help Coach Meyer, his family and his team move forward.

Imagine if one of your worst sins you ever committed was front page news, which choice would you want the rest of us to make?

What would you want us to do with the stones?
