Former #1 rated high school football player in Virginia Beach Deveon Simmons shot and killed

Deveon Simmons was considered a top linebacker in Virginia Beach and had offers from 30 teams including every ACC team. Simmons was a star linebacker who would end up getting expelled from school before committing to a school.
After three years away from organized football he briefly attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College but never played major college football. Everyone in Virginia believed Simmons would play in the NFL.
Well, all those dreams were cut short on Saturday. Devon Simmons was shot and killed Saturday afternoon.
Reports say Officers responded to the 4000 block of Brookland Drive Saturday after reports of gunshots. Police say Simmons was shot and killed while sitting in a vehicle in a parking lot.
Simmons was 35 and was the No. 1 recruit in Virginia in 2005.
Please keep his family and friends in your prayers.
