Carolina Panthers seem like a logical destination for Texans QB Deshaun Watson
Today the Carolina Panthers benched quarterback Sam Darnold. There have been many reports that the Panthers are not interested in trading for Deshaun Watson, but maybe they should.
According to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, the Panthers could try to re-enter themselves in the sweepstakes for the troubled Houston Texans quarterback.
They absolutely should too! Hear me out. The Panthers are not sold on Sam Darnold, and he has struggled lately. The Panthers want to win now and have a win-now team. They just traded for Stephon Gilmore the former South Carolina Gamecock, and now they can add a Clemson Tiger.
If one city in the country would embrace Deshaun Watson it would be Charlotte. I mean there are so many Clemson football fans in North Carolina. I think this move makes the most sense and the Panthers are not afraid to make a trade.
Scott Fitterer has to know that Watson is a legit franchise quarterback and at this point, the case is just a civil case. There have not been any criminal charges filed against Watson. I think Watson will be traded by November 2, the NFL trade deadline, and I would not be shocked if he landed back in Carolina.
