Kansas City Mayor announces August 27th Terez Paylor Day in the city

Today is Terez Paylor Day in Kansas City! August 27th was proclaimed “Terez Paylor Day” in Kansas City to honor the work, life, and service of the award-winning writer, according to Mayor Quinton Lucas.
Terez Paylor, was a popular NFL writer and Pro Football Hall of Fame voter whose career took him from the Kansas City Star to Yahoo Sports. He passed away earlier this year at the age of 37.
Paylor, was one of 48 voting members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He also was a member of the Pro Football Writers of America and National Association of Black Journalists.
Terez was a great human being, and will forever be remembered. He also has a scholarship in his name at Howard University. The Wall Street Journal, Yahoo! Sports, and The Kansas City Star announced the creation of the Terez A. Paylor Scholarship at Howard University earlier this year. The scholarship will be awarded to students majoring in journalism, with an emphasis in sports journalism, who carry a 3.0 GPA requirement.
