NFL Waiver Wire Order | What team has the first pick? How does the waiver wire work?

Head Coach Rankings, NFL Draft Bill Belichick
Bill Belichick is in a class of his own. The Patriots head coach is one of the best head coaches ever, and he continually proves his worth

Today, tons of NFL players were released including 26 players drafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. Tomorrow, teams can place a waiver wire claim to be rewarded a player released. How does it work?

A player who gets cut and has less than four years of service time is placed on waivers. All 31 other teams can place a claim on the player and add him to their 53-man roster. If the player passes through waivers unclaimed, they are free to sign with any team as an unrestricted free agent.

The waiver wire order is identical to the 2021 NFL Draft order. Teams with the worse records own the highest waiver claim priority.
