1.What is your mindset when you are on the football field?

Beat the man in front of me. I love to compete, so I’m doing anything to beat the lineman in front of me and get to the ball.

2.What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

Been playing football since I was 10. And it’s always been my dream to be a pro. So I’ve just been chasing my dreams.

3.What are your favorite things about playing football for James Madison?

The family atmosphere. With COVID, we couldn’t really hang out in the locker room or around the facility as much but we could really sit in the locker room all day and just chill. We treat each other like brothers.

4.If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Aaron Donald. Most valuable defender in the league in my opinion. Would want to sit and pick his brain and get any tips I can.

5.What is a moment in your football career that improved you as a football player?

When I tore my ACL in high school. It was a turning point in my life. I was knocked all the way down. But I didn’t give up and came back even stronger.

6.What is your favorite workout?

Power Clean. Builds explosiveness.

7.What do people need to know about Mike Greene the person?

I’m more than just a football player. I love music, all kinds. Rock, Rap, R&B, country, etc. I love shoes. Been collecting since I was 12. Used to be the only thing I bought. And I love all sports. Extreme sports was my first love. Used to skateboard, box bike, and plenty more.

8.What sets you apart from other defensive linemen?

My attention to detail with everything. On and off the field I’m studying my opponent’s every move so that we can win.

9.What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

When I’m on the field I’m locked in and everyone can see that. Never the one yelling and wasting my energy. But when I make a play I’m turnt up.

10.What would a team get in a player like you?

A hard-worker. In the weight room, on the field, and in the film room, I’m always trying to get better.

11.What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My favorite moment would be winning the state championship my senior year in high school. It felt like a movie. But my favorite play is my strip against Stony Brook first play of the game.

12.What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

Looking forward to having a somewhat normal season. I know things won’t be back to how they were no time soon but hopefully, we can play all of our games this year and get to that National championship.
