Alabama high school football standout Josh Lucas killed in a car accident just days before his graduation
An Alabama high school football player died on Sunday when he was involved in a car accident. The 18 year old football player from Northside High School named Josh Lucas was killed when a 2012 Chevy Colorado truck in which he was a passenger left the road and overturned. The recently Army National Guard enlist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Landon Davis was the driver and the two were driving back from National Guard drill training. The two men were preparing for the military. Davis survived the crash and is recovering.
Lucas was expected to graduate on Friday at 7:30 pm. His Principal spoke on the matter after the crash.
“Josh will be remembered, and Josh will always be a part of the 2021 graduating class. And that’s what our role is, is to honor all,” Principal Tony Dunn said.
