Sixth victim hanging on for their life dies | Former NFL player killed six people before taking his own life
Phillip Adams the former South Carolina State standout and former draft pick of the San Francisco 49ers is now responsible for another death.
An air conditioning technician has become the sixth person to die after being shot by Adams. Adams went on a killing spree, and Robert Shook a 38 year old A/C technician from Rock Hill, South Carolina became his sixth victim.
Shook was working on the house that Adams entered and began killing people. Adams killed doctor Robert Lesslie, 70, his wife Barbara Lesslie, 69, two of their grandchildren, 9-year-old Adah Lesslie and 5-year-old Noah Lesslie, and James Lewis, 38 as well.
Adams played in the NFL for years. State Representative Ralph Norman, Republican of South Carolina, told Charlotte’s WBTV Thursday that he had learned from law enforcement officials that Dr. Lesslie had seen Adams as a patient. Sheriff officials would not confirm the relationship.
“He was treating him and stopped giving him medicine and that’s what triggered the killings from what I understand,” said Norman, whose district encompasses Rock Hill.
The family of Adams feels football messed him up. He was paying child support, and could not find work. He lived near his Mother who was a former teacher that ended up in a wheelchair after a bad car accident.
This is such a tragic loss. Please keep the family of both in your prayers.
