2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State University

Micah Parsons is a special player, someone would call him a freak athlete. I think that is a fair evaluation, because 6’3 linebackers weighing 245 pounds should not be running 4.3 forties. Parsons is different though.
The Harrisburg, Pennsylvania native is being talked about as a top 10 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft as he should be. Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons put on a show at his pro day. Considered one of the best defenders in the 2021 NFL Draft, Parsons recorded a 40-yard dash time of 4.39 seconds.
Many will say that Micah Parsons has some character issues. Several websites are putting out that information, which is public. Yes, there was an altercation, but many players have altercations. Micah Parsons’ situation is a lot like Randy Moss’ before the 1998 NFL draft.
The wide receiver was extremely talented but saw his draft stock fall because scouts questioned if he was a team player. NFL scouts also mentioned that Randy Moss had character issues. Moss was projected to be a top-five pick in 1998 but fell to the 21st overall pick.
Well, I can say this. What happened to Randy Moss? Yes, he blew the hell up. He ended up being the second greatest wide receiver in NFL history. Keep sleeping on Micah Parsons if you want, 6’3 linebackers with 4.39 speed are generational type players. I do not feel Parsons is going to slip they way others think. I think many learned their lesson with Randy Moss.
NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes
I turn on the film, and I fall in love with Micah Parsons. He does everything you want a linebacker to do. He reminds me a lot of Lavonte David the All-Pro linebacker for the Super Bowl winning Buccaneers. I know there are some concerns about Parsons off the field character, but he is a competitor on the field. On the field he is one of the nastiest linebacker to ever come out of the NFL Draft. He takes great angles, can chase down a ball carrier, and disrupts the play often. Parsons will be a Pro Bowler, Mark my words, do not over think this football scouts.
