Former 49ers football player convicted of aggravated sexual intercourse without consent | Facing 14 years

San Francisco 49ers RB Jarryd Hayne, who was one of the first international players to come to the US to play football has been convicted. Hayne was a massive international rugby star, and he’s now facing serious time behind bars.
The 33-year-old was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault without consent, after a woman had accused him of violently sexually abusing her in 2018 in Sydney, Australia.
The woman claimed Hayne had performed sexual acts on her without her consent and caused her serious injuries.
Hayne denied the allegations, insisting it all was consensual and explaining the injuries were caused by accident.
Last year, it went to the jury who ultimately could not make a decision (hung jury). This time around, Hayne was found guilty and is now facing 14 years in prison. his hearing is scheduled for May 6.
