Former UVA-Wise football player Donovon Lynch shot and killed by police in Virginia Beach

Former Virginia-Wise football player Donovon Lynch died Friday after being shot by a Virginia Beach police officer.
Donovon Lynch, 25, Virginia Beach, died Friday at the shooting scene.
Lynch was killed at the hands of police as officers responded to a gunfight they said erupted while they were dealing with another, unrelated shooting nearby.
Police said they faced “three separate shooting events” along the city’s oceanfront on Friday night. One incident left three men arrested after eight people were injured and occurred just minutes before the Lynch shooting.
Before Lynch was identified by police as the victim of an officer-involved shooting, an initial press release described the man killed as “an armed citizen.”
But the Police Chief openly admitted late Saturday that authorities do not actually know if Lynch was armed.
The officer who shot Lynch did not activate his body cam.
Please keep Donovon’s family in your prayers. What a horrible situation.
in honor of Donovon we wanted to share his game film!
