Britt Reid is still a free man and we need to step in, A 5 year old girl could have permanent brain damage
It has been almost a month since former Kansas Coty Chiefs assistant coach Britt Reid told police he had several drinks and got behind the wheel that almost killed an entire family. His truck slammed into two cars that were pulled over at a Kansas City highway entrance.
Yet Reid, the son of Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, remains a free man, still awaiting a Kansas City police investigation to determine whether he’ll face charges. How the hell does this happen?
A report came out this week that the attorney for the family of 5-year-old Ariel Young feels she will have permanent brain damage from the accident. He also shared with The Kansas City Star a voicemail recorded just moments after the wreck.
The recording captures the screams of family members as they try to find the little girl and her 4-year-old cousin who were in the backseat of the mangled SUV.
Tom Porto the attorney for Ariel told Good Morning America on Tuesday, that Ariel Young likely has permanent damage “that she will endure for the rest of her life,”
I want to know if this was any other person would the police be just waiting for results? Let’s be real here, we know why he is not in jail. This is dead wrong and he knowingly admitted to drinking and driving. In the court of law you are innocent until proven guilty, but when you admit to doing it you are considered guilty. What are we waiting for? This story is sad.
We will continue to pray for Ariel and her family.
