Former NFL and Alabama Alum Lorenzo Washington is dead at the age of 34

Former Alabama defensive tackle Lorenzo Washington is dead at the age of 34. He played for several teams in the NFL.

Former NFL defensive lineman Lorenzo Washington is dead at the age of 34.

After going undrafted in 2010, Washington was a member of practice squads with the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, New York Jets and Detroit Lions. After his stint with the Lions in 2012, he moved to Dallas.

Washington began his college career as a nose tackle, but primarily played defensive end under Nick Saban. He changed his position when the team brought Terrence Cody in to play nose tackle.

In his three seasons, he racked up 69 tackles (12 for loss) and six sacks.

A cause of death has not been released at this time. According to his former teammate Eryk Anders no other information has been made available at this time.
