The Jacksonville Jaguars made a front-office move today, officially signing former San Francisco GM Trent Baalke to their GM position today.
Baalke has been an NFL executive for a while now, dating back to his days with the Redskins in 2001 as a Scout from 2001-2004.
From there Baalke was a member of the 49ers staff from 2005-2016, as a scout, director of player personnel, and a general manager. After being let go by the Niners in 2016, Baalke spent some time away from football until returning last year as the Jaguars head of pro personnel.
From there he was elevated to general manager after Shad Khan decided to clean house, and it looks like he will be staying in the general manager position.
I do not have a super good read on this move, but it could work out great and I am excited to see what happens!
