Divisional Round MVP’s | Four players who stepped up to ensure their team won

Former Weber State cornerback Taron Johnson made the biggest play of the week picking off a Lamar Jackson pass and returning 101 yards for a touchdown!

Two rounds over, one round to go, and with the wrap up of the divisional round it’s time to take another look at the most impressive players on each team. So let’s get started with the first NFL game.

Aaron Jones

Jones was extremely useful against the Los Angeles Rams strong defense, Jones had 99 rushing yards for 7.1 yards a carry, 14 receiving yards, and a rushing touchdown. Jones was able to move the offense, especially with the help of Jamaal Williams and AJ Dillon. Jones will play a crucial role in helping to build the Packers offense against the Bucs next weekend.

Taron Johnson

There can be no doubt that the defensive back with the massive 101 yard pick six really helped seal the win early for Buffalo and get them the leverage that they needed. Johnson will be needed if the Chiefs get Patrick Mahomes back next weekend, and will be a good player to line up beside Tre’Davious White in the secondary.

Travis Kelce

Kelce had a massive 100 yard game against the Cleveland Browns, and will be needed if Kansas City is forced to play the morabund Chad Henne at quarterback against the Buffalo Bills. Kelce’s final total was a 109 yard game plus a receiving touchdown.

Devin White

Last week I wrote about White being a game changer for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and that turned out to be the case. White recorded 10 tackles plus an interception against the New Orleans Saints. White is a leader of this prolific defense, and the Bucs will need him against what is the best offense in the playoffs (assuming Patrick Mahomes is a no go)
