Do not be surprised if the Patriots blow up the Texans phone for Deshaun Watson

Deshaun Watson Texans QB Index
I do not know why I feel the Patriots will throw their draft picks at the Texans for Deshaun Watson. At this point, I guarantee the Texans would listen.

I would not be surprised if Deshaun Watson ends up on the New England Patriots.

Let me explain something for a second. The Texans new GM is Nick Caserio, a long time friend and co-worker of Bill Belichick. Right now, the Patriots and head coach Bill Belichick are the laughing stock of the league, because their former legendary quarterback Tom Brady is on the way back to his 10th Super Bowl, while the Pats watch from home.

Belichick is a fierce competitor and let’s face it, they would be willing to give up quite a bit to land a player like Deshaun Watson. Bill Belichick cannot go out as a loser.

Today, Deshaun Watson formally requested a trade from the Houston Texans, and I cannot blame him. The Texans hired Ravens assistant head coach and passing coordinator David Culley as their new head coach. David Culley and the Ravens were 32nd in the NFL when it came to passing the ball.

Watson is probably very upset and I cannot blame him. The Texans can fight all they want and they do have leverage but it will not fix the relationship.

I would not be shocked if Bill Belichick and the Patriots offered the Texans three first round picks from the 2021, 2022, and 2023 NFL Draft as well as their second round pick in 2021 to land Watson. The Patriots have to get a quarterback if they want to compete in the AFC East. The Bills, and Dolphins are on the rise, and the Patriots are not going to go for a rookie quarterback.

Bill Belichick does not have time to develop a young quarterback. Watson is a veteran and players would love to come to New England to play for him. They can land a few veteran playmakers cheap and the Patriots would once again be involved in the AFC.

Do not rule them out at this point, that is all I am saying. I mean if Nick Caserio does not work out with the Texans, guess who will always take him back? Think about it……
