You cannot be conservative in football, if you play conservative you will lose

Yesterday, Tyler Bass had a great game, but was he relied on too much? Should the Bills have went for it rather than kicking field goals?

Yesterday, we watched two teams act conservative and both of those teams lost. The Green Bay Packers were first, they had a beautiful opportunity to get in front of the Buccaneers and they kicked a field goal.

I am not going to put all the blame on Matt LaFleur because it seems like everyone is blaming him, but Aaron Rodgers had daylight and refused to run the ball. Instead, he tried to fit it in between three defenders.

I understand that points are crucial, but you have to score touchdowns. Since analytics has come into football it has ruined the game.

There are too many conservative coaches in the league. Sometimes you have to use common sense. The Buffalo Bills game was another head scratcher. The Bills were in the red zone twice and kicked field goals, when they were facing one of the worst red zone defenses in the NFL.

The Bills on the other hand were one of the best red zone offenses and they decided to kick a field goal. I understand points, but you have to go for the throat. Your offensive coordinator had multiple coaching interviews and decided to stay. He looked like a pretty damn amazing play caller all year and the Bills decided to play it safe when playing the Chiefs. If you defense was stopping the Chiefs I would not have been mad, but Travis Kelce was eating the Bills lunch the entire game, and Tyreek Hill was bullying the Bills defensive backs.

After the game, Sean McDermott said he would have went for it if he could go back in time. That is the problem. You didn’t have to go back in time.

Both Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers were in the MVP running this year. Both quarterbacks were playing amazing football. Both were weapons in the red zone. The Bills though decided to kick two field goals in the redzone, and the Packers decided to kick a field goal with the game on the line.

Listen, a decision like this will make you kick yourself in the ass the rest of your career. You have to go for the juggular in every game. Look at the Bucs, Bruce Arians with 8 seconds left in the half went deep and burned Kevin King for a touchdown. When you are playing teams that are going for the throat you cannot win being conservative.

PUT THE FOOT ON THE GAS AND NEVER LET IT UP. If you beat a team by 60 you beat a team by sixty. PERIOD, When the Bills second stringers played the Dolphins in the final game of the year, did they stop putting it on them? NO, and they won. I just wish we could go back in time to see what would have happened if both of the teams did in fact go for it.
