Josh Butler Free Agent Interview
Josh Butler the former Michigan State defensive back sat down with Justin Berendzen of NFL Draft Diamonds.

Hello, I am @jrberendzen on Twitter and this is one of my free agent interviews where I ask very deserving free agents questions about the players themselves and about what a team would get in these players. All of these players should get picked up by NFL, CFL, and XFL teams and get a shot at being a career football player. So I hope you all read this interview for @JoshButlerTV

1.Rank focus, footwork and skill based on what is most important to you as a football player and explain why?

Focus is number one because your ability to pay attention and be able to grow as a football player is very important. I feel as though if you have focus you can adjust to working on being a better player. Footwork is number two because having great footwork definitely transitions over into the game, being able to have that split-second difference on a break to make a play. Skill is something natural, but you can work on your skills and having better ballhandling or being able to jump at a high point, small differences within yourself that you can slowly adjust to.

2.What do you do for fun?

For fun I usually just run the mountains with my dogs or doing something outside adventurous and sometimes play call of duty with my friends.

3.What is your mindset when you are on the football field?

My mindset on the field is to be calm before the storm, I typically listen to old-school music 90’s R&B and relax, ready to go!

4. What is your favorite stadium that you have played in?

My favorite stadium to play in besides our own would have to be Arizona State, loved the Mountain View it was cool.

5. What do you hope to achieve as a football player going forward?

My goal to achieve as a football player moving forward would be able to inspire other kids to learn the game and play the game and be able to make it to the NFL and overcome the different obstacles that I’ve been battling with throughout my time.

6.What has been your biggest challenge in life?

My biggest challenge in life has definitely been my entire journey dealing with the passing of my parents and injuries in football being able to overcome a lot of things and graduate college and now having to deal with COVID-19 affecting the fact that we don’t have a pro day.

7.If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

A player that I would like to hang out with will probably be Randy Moss I know that he loves fishing and I do too and I’m pretty much a country guy so I think that’ll be cool.

8.What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I decided to play football as a kid because my older brother was playing but once I got to high school it became very interesting and fun because I understood more.

9.If your life was a tv show what would you call it and why?

If my life was a TV show I will call it JBTV, I’ve been establishing that name that brand for a long time now and definitely would love to have my own TV show and be able to walk to people of different challenges in life be able to show them the life of football players or the life outside of football.

10.What would a team get in a player like you?

A team would get out of me a dedicated player who everybody loves to be around and can learn from to be able to inspire and impact every single player that I come across. A true leader by example and someone who is dependable.

11. What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My favorite moment would have to be meeting up with different people throughout my time playing. A lot of the players that I play with are now I call my family simply because of the bond we build and literally being around them every single day.

12. What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I bring to the field the energy of setting the tone. I love to hit. They definitely love your big hits and being a dog on the field. I love playing other positions besides corner and very aggressive can play safety and nickel and even a great returner as well.
