2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame
If you are an NFL team looking for a hammer, I found one. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is a guy that will shoot a gap and blow you up. It does not matter if it is special teams or on defense.
The former safety converted to linebacker/rover is a dog for the Fighting Irish.
When the Hampton, Virginia native came to Notre Dame his Freshman year, he was one of only 10 scholarship players who spent the season on the scout team who did not see the field.
In 2018 as a sophomore, Koramoah played in just two games, but it was his junior year in 2019 where he exploded onto the scene.
The shredded linebacker/rover for the Notre Dame defense started all 13 games tying the team lead for tackles with 80. Jeremiah was all over the place, whether it was in the backfield, or running down a return man on special teams.
Owusu-Koramoah has played in 24 career games and has 124 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and one interception. Last year his 13.5 tackles for loss were impressive. This year he already has 8.5 in just 9 games.
Jeremiah has 7 career sacks, and he is a nightmare for offenses on screen passes and short passes across the middle. He shoots out of a bottle and will try to decapitate you. He is flying up the draft boards the same way he shoots a gap right now.
NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes
I watched Jeremiah for the first time this year against Clemson and let me tell you something, he is the real deal. He finished the game with 2.5 tackles for loss and helped the Fighting Irish pull off a huge upset over Trevor Lawrence-less Clemson Tigers. Owusu-Koramoah is a little light but he flies all over the field. He reminds me a lot of Devin White. He is going to be a special talent and I think he will hear his name called earlier than expected. Damond Talbot – NFL Draft Diamonds Owner
