As you know I have been pumping Florida Gators heavily this year. Well, I went to their game to scout and I was thoroughly impressed with so many of these players. One player who made play after play was #8 Trevon Grimes.
The former St. Thomas Aquinas standout has been a huge asset to the Gators this year. Grimes was a five star wide receiver that committed to Ohio State University out of high school. He suffered a knee injury in high school limiting him, but was still a top prospects.
This year, Grimes has become a prime target for Heisman hopeful Kyle Trask. He has hauled in 22 receptions for 347 yards and has scored 6 touchdowns. This is Grimes third year in a row of stepping up at the wide receiver position for the Gators.
In his career at Florida, Grimes has 81 receptions for 1,202 yards and has scored 11 touchdowns. He is averaging 49.6 yards per reception this year. It was enough to catch the eye of Senior Bowl director Jim Nagy who invited Grimes to the event.
Grimes will join Kyle Trask and his counter part Kadarius Toney. Grimes is a stud in the making. He is a big wide out at 6’4 and can contortion his body to make a big play.
NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes
Grimes has grown on me. I am starting to become an undercover Gators fan. I mean that too, because this team with Kyle Trask leading them has been fun to watch. Trevon Grimes is a big wide out with speed and elusiveness. He seems to be in the right place at the right time, and has a huge catch radius. He has been huge in the growth of the Heisman Hopeful Kyle Trask. Grimes is getting drafted, remember this! – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds, Owner
