NFLPA is investigating the Raiders IV blunder that has Trent Brown still in the hospital

Trent Brown botched IV
The NFL and NFLPA are now looking into the botched IV that happened to Raiders OT Trent Brown.

Can you believe it? The Las Vegas Raiders won yesterday, but lost their starting offensive tackle who is still in the hospital.

Trent Brown the massive offensive tackle is still getting tests done in the hospital, after he was hospitalized for air in his veins. It could have been lethal.

It is called air embolism. Air embolism can occur whenever a pressure gradient favoring entry of gas into blood circulation exits.

A small amount of air often gets into the blood circulation, which is stopped at the lungs and very rarely produces symptoms. Death may occur if a large bubble of gas becomes lodged in the heart stopping blood from flowing from the right ventricle to the lungs. Although the maximum safe amount of air is unknown, as little as 20 ml/sec of air may show symptoms and 70-150 ml/sec of air can be fatal.

Our friends the Fantasy Doctors, break down his injury here.

Pro Football Talk is reporting that the NFLPA is now investigating the situation. It should have never happened, but then again Tyrod Taylor shoul have never suffered a punctured lung either.

The league is looking into the matter to ensure this does not happen again.

Brown missed week 7 due to COVID, and missed week 8 due to air embolism. Hopefully he can get home soon.
