2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Larry Rountree III, RB, University of Missouri

Missouri running back Larry Rountree III is a future superstar. I love the film he has produced since getting to Mizzou. He has been consistent.

There are some solid players in the 2021 NFL Draft. One player that has grown on me is Missouri running back Larry Rountree III. The Raleigh, North Carolina native has some of the best vision in the NFL Draft.

When leaving North Carolina, Rountree was the 31st best player in the State coming out of high school. He rumbled for 21 touchdowns his senior year on 201 carries and picked up 1,147 yards for Millbrook. Rountree would take his talents to Mizzou and the rest is history.

When watching the film of Rountree you get excited because you are just one cut away from a long play. His vision is something that cannot be taught. He is very similar to Devin Singletary when it comes to a quick move to pick up more yardage.

This year Rountree III has 122 carries for 514 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns. He is averaging 82 yards a game right now and has been super impressive. The wild thing is he has only caught 9 passes this year. It makes you wonder if he is just not being used in the passing game or does he have a problem catching.

Rountree has over 3000 yards rushing in his career already at Mizzou. He is a big time back and he is going to catch the attention of NFL scouts. He is a mid round pick in my honest opinion right now.

NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes

Missouri running back Larry Rountree III is going to be a stud in the NFL. His vision and cutting ability are unteachable. Rountree sometimes gets caught holding the ball on the inside hand, and is not utilized as much as I would like him to be in the receiving game, but that could be a gameplan and not a lack of talent. I think Rountree is going to be a special player at the next level. – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds, Owner
