2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Jayson Oweh, EDGE, Penn State University

Jayson Oweh Penn State Sackmaster
Penn State pass rusher Jayson Oweh is one of the best pass rushers in the 2021 NFL Draft. If he decides to stay he could be a top 5 pick in 2022.

I have a feeling Penn State pass rusher Jayson Oweh is going to leave early. So I am going to write this as if he does in fact declare. Oweh is a big boy pass rusher for the Nittany Lions. The 6’5, 252 pound pass rusher could add about 10 to 20 pounds of muscle, but when you watch his film he flies around the edge.

Oweh’s best attribute is his first step. The long and quick pass rusher has a knack for getting after the quarterback. This year he has 5.5 tackles for loss in just 5 games. When you look at his stats for 2020, he has 33 tackles, and 5.5 tackles for loss.

Oweh has yet to get the quarterback this year, but the stellar pass rusher had 5 sacks in 2019 and only 5 tackles for loss. He played in 13 games and finished the season with 21 tackles.

Oweh is not the most productive stat guy in the 2021 NFL Draft, but his athleticism is so impressive. He reminds me of Aaron Maybin, but I think he can be a much better pro than Maybin.

NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes

I think Jayson Oweh is currently a late first round pick to an early day 2 pick, but if he does in fact decide to stay he could end up being a top five pick in 2022. Oweh has not been the most productive pass rusher when it comes to stats, but if you watch the film, he is constantly having the quarterback on skates. NFL teams love players that can apply pressure. – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds, Owner
