Angelo State University Rams Quarterback Zach Bronkhorst has waited a long time for this moment. He played football and graduated from High Island HS.
He was coached by his father, John Bronkhorst. He also competed in basketball and track while in high school. High Island is a very small school and town located just outside of Galveston, Texas.
The Rams who compete in the Lone Star Conference in Division II are playing a four-game schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is something you didn’t expect to see, as Division II and III canceled their seasons.
Bronkhorst and his Rams hosted the West Texas A&M Buffaloes on Saturday, September 26, 2020. Behind a steady ground game, the Rams defeated the Buffaloes 21-10.
Bronkhorst commanded the offense and demonstrated leadership as he went 18 for 28 on passes for 178 passing yards. He also added 28 yards on the ground on 9 rushes.
Bronkhorst and his Rams will travel to Nacogdoches to battle the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks on Saturday, October 10 at 4 PM CDT.
