Predicting a Trade: Bills send a 4th round pick to the Chargers for DE Melvin Ingram

Melvin Ingram Bills trade rumors
Imagine if the Bills could send a mid-round pick to land Chargers pass rusher Melvin Ingram? Bills would finally have a player that can get after the quarterback.

The Buffalo Bills defense has been suspect this year. Their pass rush is worse. They are currently paying 9.5 plus million dollars to three defensive ends on their roster and they have 4 sacks from those three players.

Mario Addison is the Bills sack leader right now and the former Panther has 3 sacks. Trent Murphy was a healthy scratch last week and Jerry Hughes has 0 sacks on the season. The Bills need to get to the quarterback and they have not been able to do that all year.

Adding a player like Melvin Ingram changes things. Ingram is a North Carolina native, just like Bills GM Brandon Beane. Beane grew up just 1 hour from Melvin Ingram and nows him very well. Ingram is 31 years old, and he has has some injuries in the past, but he is a true pass rusher.

Ingram the former South Carolina Gamecocks pass rusher’s salary is 14 million which is a lot but has 49 career sacks. For a fourth-round pick the Bills win this trade. The Bills call and talk with Anthony Lynn their former friend and head coach and swindle another solid player to their team.

The Bills have been known to make a trade. They were able to land Stefon Diggs from the Vikings and Beane has shown the ability to get his guys. The Bills need a pass rusher who can get to the quarterback and the Chargers can free up some space. It is a win-win for both teams.

The Bills 4th round pick would turn into a 3rd round pick if Ingram finished the team with 7 sacks. That is what Ingram has averaged the last two years with the Chargers.
