2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Marlon Williams, WR, University of Central Florida
UCF Knights have been a quiet sleeper for several years in college football. They have been producing some talent as well, and last year Gabriel Davis (drafted by the Bills) was the star wide out in Orlando. Well, this year Marlon Williams is cutting up.
Marlon Williams reminds me of Anquan Boldin. The 6000, 215 pound wide receiver from Mobile, Alabama is a big bodied wide out with great route running skills. He has strong hands and seems to always come down with the ball.
When Williams left McGill-Toolen out of Mobile, Alabama in high school he was rated the 88th best wide receiver in the entire country. He finished with 47 yards for 990 yards as a senior. He really earned a shot on the UCF roster.
As a true freshman, Williams appeared in 13 games, hauling in 17 receptions for 270 yards and scored twice. Since his true freshman year, Williams has developed into a true number 1.
In Williams career at UCF he truly has been one of the better wide receivers in the country. He has hauled in 109 receptions for 1511 yards receiving and has scored 11 times. I like what he has been able to do in his career.
NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes:
Marlon Williams has been one of the most consistent football players for the UCF Knights. Living in Central Florida, I have been able to watch quite a bit of film on Williams and let me tell you the kid is a tough wide out to bring down. When he gets the ball he is a beast after the catch. He is a bigger wide out that is harder to bring down. He reminds me a lot of Anquan Boldin. With Gabe Davis already having success in the NFL, I would not be shocked if Marlon impresses scouts as well. – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds, Owner
