North Dakota State QB Trey Lance will get some help from former NDSU QB Carson Wentz

North Dakota State QB Trey Lance has a tough decision to make after his one game this year on October 3rd. Many think that the Minnesota native Lance will declare from the NFL. That is not a bad idea either. He is currently rated as a top five quarterback in the NFL Draft, and many draftniks consider him a top 15 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
With that being said, another former North Dakota State Quarterback who made it to the NFL said he will help Trey out and will answer any questions he has about the process.
Carson Wentz the quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles says he would talk to Trey about the decision and help him along the way.
“I know Trey. I know Trey pretty well,” Wentz said on a video conference following Philadelphia’s first padded practice Monday, Aug. 17. “I’ll get a chance to talk to him here probably soon about what the situation is and we’ve talked along the way as well so, it’s not a position I would want to be in.”
Wentz is not the only one willing to help the redshirt sophomore quarterback. His head coach Matt Entz wants to come back obviously but will do whatever he can to support him.
Trey Lance coach Matt Entz would love to keep him but will support his decision!
“I’m here to help him, I’m going to be as supportive as I can,” NDSU head football coach Matt Entz said. “Of course, I’d love to see him come back and continue to improve his skillset and develop his game. But at the same time, he needs to do what’s best for him and his family.”
Without a doubt, Trey Lance is the most impressive quarterback from the FCS in the past ten years. I think Wentz was a little better, but Lance is not far off. If he can put up a big game on October 3rd, he will be leaving NFL teams and their scouts salivating for more. I cannot wait to see how it plays out!
