Breaking: Washington Football Team is working out former Louisiana Tech QB J’Mar Smith

Former Louisiana Tech quarterback J’Mar Smith will be in the Nation’s Capital working out for the Washington Football Team.

We are learning that the Washington Football Team has former Louisiana Tech quarterback J’Mar Smith in for a workout today.

As a redshirt senior, Smith started 11 games and was 236-of-367 passing for 2,977 yards and 18 touchdowns on the season.

After his solid season for LA Tech, Smith signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent. He received a $5,000 signing bonus and $30,000 in guaranteed money,

J’Mar is the son of former Patriot defensive lineman Kenny Smith. He finished his NFL career with 71 combined tackles and 4.5 sacks. Smith was hoping to stick around with the Patriots, but was released in July.

Smith is a gunslinger with athletic ability. Smith is a 6-foot, 218 pound player who has the capability of putting his head down and getting yards on the ground.

Smith was a multi-sport athlete who was also drafted by the San Diego Padres in 2015. Smith recently worked out for the Green Bay Packers.
