Fantasy Football: Five must start players in week 1

We had our first taste of football last night when the Kansas City Chiefs took on the Houston Texans and won big. We listed Clyde Edwards-Helaire as a must start rookie earlier in the week, and since we are on a role we are going to list the top five players we would start week 1 for Fantasy Football. Check out That Sports Guy’s Fantasy Football Rankings for Week 1 as well! We are going to pick a QB, RB, WR, TE, DEF each week. So let’s have some fun and pick our five must start players and top defense for week 1!
Quarterback
Ben Roethlisberger – I am going with the old man against the Giants. I am not a huge fan of the Giants secondary, and I think the Steelers have so many weapons it is going to get ugly quick. Big Ben has something to prove and I think he has a monster game week 1. I am going to go on record and say I think he throws for 300 plus and 3 touchdowns.
Running Back
Austin Ekeler – Tyrod Taylor will be starting for the Chargers and he loves to run screens. I think Ekeler will have a huge week 1. I think he can rip at least 80 on the ground and add an additional 50 plus receiving. The Chargers play the Bengals, and I do not think they will look to hot week 1.
Wide Receiver
D.K. Metcalf – The Seahawks play the Falcons and I think D.K. goes ham. I believe he will lead all wide outs this week with 10 receptions for 140 and 2 touchdowns. The Seahawks are going to be looking at him early and often. The Falcons still have problems in their secondary.
Tight End
Darren Waller – I think the Carolina Panthers secondary is going to be their biggest weakness. Do not get me wrong, I think they are talented but they are very young. I think the middle of the field is going to be open a lot and I would not be surprised if Waller goes for 100 on Sunday.
Defense
Buffalo Bills – The Bills have a top rated defense already and now they are going to face the Jets. The Jets have so many holes on their offensive line that I think the Bills will eat. I would not be surprised if they finished with 4 sacks and several turnovers.
