What happens if the NFL does not play a down this year?
Do you remember what the start of 2020 was like? I do, there were no sports, I was playing jackpot slot machines online like I was at a Casino because even they were shut down. Well there is tons of uncertainty again around sports. It is not because of COVID-19 though.
Instead, athletes from the MLB, NBA and other sports leagues are taking a stance against police brutality.
Right now, so much is up in the air. The NBA and their players are taking a stance. The MLB is taking a stance, people want answers. This is an ongoing issue around the United States and the players are getting fed up.
While nothing has been officially decided yet, the Lakers and Clippers were reportedly among the minority of teams who were pushing to end the rest of the season in protest.
While there are concerns that the season may be in jeopardy, Adrian Wojnarowski feels there is optimism the players will play.
I am not sure about you, but if there was no football or sports I would be depressed. I love football, and I know today many sports teams are meeting with their team to discuss what happened in Wisconsin when a man by the name of Jacob Blake was shot by police in his back seven times. Many details have still not come out about the shooting, but the video was hard to watch.
This morning several NFL teams canceled practice to stand in solidarity with the paralyzed young man. According to ESPN, the New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals and Washington Football Team are among the NFL teams not practicing Thursday in response to the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Wisconsin.
I am not sure how to stop the problems from happening, but I know many athletes are sick and tired of reading about these incidents. We will see what happens but right now it sure does feel like nothing can be taken off the table at this point.
