Brown University commit John Holmes killed in a car accident

Unfortunately, John Holmes will never get to attend the Ivy League school. He was killed in a single-car accident, according to MLive.

John Holmes was committed to playing at Brown University. He was a beast for Grand Rapids Christian High School and recorded 37 tackles. The 6030 pass rusher was a first-team selection on the Grand Rapids Press Dream Team and helped the Eagles win two consecutive OK Gold Conference Championships.

Unfortunately, John Holmes will never get to attend the Ivy League school. He was killed in a single-car accident, according to MLive.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office reported that Holmes, 18, was traveling northbound at approximately 10:59 p.m. in a 2019 GMC Acadia on Pettis Ave., south of 2 Mile Road NE in Ada Township. The car went off the roadway and overturned, causing the vehicle to start on fire. Holmes was pronounced dead at the scene, and the crash remains under investigation.
