Darrius Nash a redshirt junior safety was arrested yesterday for investigation of criminal mischief.
The Dixie State safety, 20 years old reportedly was attending a peaceful protest for George Floyd’s death at St. George Boulevard and Main Street when a few trucks stopped at the red light began getting attacked.
“The protest crowd came off the sidewalks and into the intersection surrounding these vehicles. There were bottles that were flying in the air hitting the vehicles. The video shows several suspects kicking the doors of the vehicles as they were stopped at the light,” according to Deseret.com.
Nash was one of the people identified by Dixie State University Police Department who kicked the door of the truck.
Nash did admit to kicking the door, and stated he was in the “heat of the moment”.
