2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Zaire Mitchell, TE, Notre Dame College (OH)

When you look at tight ends, what do you expect? I will give you my prototypical tight end. I want to see athleticism, I want to see someone who can catch a contested ball, and I want to see someone willing to block. They have to have some size because you expect them to be a redzone threat. They have to be able to catch the ball in traffic and break a tackle. If you can do all of that you have a stud tight end. Well, there is a tight end in Division 2 that can do all of that. Let’s meet Zaire Mitchell.
Zaire Mitchell is a 6070 tight end from Notre Dame College in Ohio, that is considered a HUGE DIAMOND in the ROUGH!

Mitchell may have been a late bloomer, but man did he blossom. In 2017, the Falcons big receiver caught 2 balls for 16 yards. He also racked up 2 tackles. He was not utilized much as a true freshman but over the next two years he would really blossom.
Mitchell weighs 250 pounds and can block. He finished last year with 573 yards receiving on 42 receptions and scored 6 times. He scored four touchdowns in 2018 adding another 435 yards receiving.
I recently put together a highlight tape for Mitchell because I am blown away with this kid’s talents. He is a very solid prospect that can do everything an NFL team wants, and I feel he is athletic enough to run a solid forty.
NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes:
Not many are talking about Zaire Mitchell, but they better start watching film quickly. Mitchell reminds me a lot of Donald Parham, but get this he can block. Parham and Mitchell had similar size, but Mitchell is not afraid to block down field. I think NFL teams are going to discover other Falcons when they go in to watch Mitchell.
