2021 NFL Draft Prospect Interview: Tarron Jackson, EDGE, Coastal Carolina

Last year, there was a solid pass rusher named Alex Highsmith. Highsmith was drafted in the third round by the Pittsburgh Steelers from a smaller D1 conference. This year, there is another player from a small conference (Sun-Belt) who will hear his name called. That is Tarron Jackson the pass rusher from Coastal Carolina.
Tarron is the best prospect on the former FCS school. Coastal has put several player in the NFL on the offensive side of the ball and the biggest player from Coastal to make it was obviously Josh Norman, but Jackson could be the next high draft pick.
The 6020, 260 pound pass rusher was recruited by Appalachain State and Coastal and chose the Chanticleers because his visit to the facility they made him feel like family. He should feel right at home, I mean he is from Aiken, South Carolina. Aiken has produced some studs at the NFL level, guys like Corey Chavious, DeMarcus Lawrence and former first round pick Troy Williamson are all from Aiken. Add Jackson to the list because he will join them.

As a freshman, Jackson suffered an injury after four games. As a redshirt freshman, Jackson played in 8 games and was the starter for their home opener. His season was cut short to an injury, but he would rebound his Sophomore year.
As a Sophomore he finished with 58 tackles including 11 tackles for loss and three sacks. He battled through injuries his Sophomore year as well. As a junior it clicked. He blew up with 9.5 sacks and finished with 12 tackles for loss. He is one of the top pass rushers in the 2021 NFL Draft, and scouts are expecting an even better redshirt senior season.
Remember his name in the 2021 NFL Draft, he will have teams that fall in love with him. He does need to improve on a few things, but with a strong senior campaign he should hear his name called.
