When I watch film of Greg Eisworth of Iowa State, I see Micah Hyde of the Buffalo Bills. I am a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills and I think Eisworth and Hyde are very similar as players.

The Grand Prairie, Texas native was a four star recruit leaving high school where he was considered a top 50 safety in the entire country. He played both quarterback and safety. Eisworth was a basketball player and a track star as well. He was the total package and had offers from Ole Miss, Baylor and Oklahoma, but ended up going to Trinity Valley Community College.

At Trinity Valley he helped the team with the Heart of Texas Bowl 48-41 over Garden City. He finished with 47 tackles and 10 pass breakups with 2 interceptions. He landed a scholarship with Iowa State and three other schools, but chose the Cyclones.

In 2018, Eisworth was named Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year, and finished ALL-Big 12. The kid was a beast, leading the Cyclones in tackles with 7.3 per game. He would continue to have success in the Big 12 last season.

In 2019, Eisworth was a first team All-Big 12 for the second year in a row. He is only one of four players in Iowa State history to earn first-team honors multiple years in a row. He finished last year with 65 tackles, with 11 more pass break ups.

Hopefully, with another huge season in 2020, Eisworth can turn into a top 100 player. He made the Jim Thorpe Award List in 2019 and should be a player to watch for the trophy again in 2020.

NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes:

I love Greg Eisworth as a prospect, he is just 5’11, but he plays so much bigger. He is athletic and takes great angles on the play. He has great instincts and is a student of the game. You can see him making reads on the ball before the play begins. I think of Micah Hyde the former Iowa Hawkeye because both are similar in the way they play the ball. I would not be shocked if he is a top 100 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds Owner
