2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Blake Haubeil, K, Ohio State
I know, he is a kicker, I don’t care though because I was a kicker back in the day. We have a lot in common actually, Blake Haubeil is from what city again? OH, YEAH, BIG BUFFALO! The former Canisius high school standout has a MONSTER leg, and is worth every second of an article on NFL Draft Diamonds.
I wanted to breakdown Blake because the kid has a rocket leg, and great size. Most kickers are around 5090, 5100, but not Blake Haubeil. The Buffalo, New York native stands at 6030 and weighs 230 pounds. He is a kicker in a quarterback’s body. Very similar to Stephen Hauschka who stands at 6040.
Back in 2017, Haubeil was a top kicker ranking number 2 by 247Sports. He was named to the USA ALL-USA First Team offense as a senior. He went 17/22 with a long of 61 yards. That 61 yard field goal came during his junior year in high school. It ultimately landed him at Ohio State University one of the most prestigious colleges in the Northeast.
Since his time at Ohio State he has hit 23 of 28 in career field goals and is 122 of 122 on extra points. He also handles kickoff duties as well and get this he has 77 touchbacks on 302 kickoffs.
Last season, Blake nailed a 55-yard field goal at Northwestern, which is the second longest field goal in Ohio State history, and the 9th longest field goal in college football last season.
Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes:
Besides the fact that Blake Haubeil is from Buffalo and a kicker, he is everything NFL teams are looking for. They want consistency and they want a kicker that has a leg. Haubeil has one of the best legs in college football and has hit every single extra point in his career. I love the kid, I maybe bias, but to me he is a draft pick. – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds Owner.
