Chiefs punter Dustin Colquitt released by team after 15 seasons

Chiefs punter Dustin Colquitt posted a photo on Instagram saying goodbye to the Chiefs Kingdom, and we are learning that he has been released by the team.
The Chiefs are cash strapped and Colquitt’s release free up cap space. His departure will save the team $2 million in 2020, the final year of the 38-year-old’s contract.

Colquitt played for the Chiefs for 15 years, and he will likely be replaced by Tyler Newsome or undrafted Free Agent Tommy Townsend. Both were recently signed.
