These five teams crushed the NFL Draft

As you all know I am a Buffalo Bills fan so the only way to make a list of five teams and do it bias is to eliminate my team. I do think the Bills crushed their draft this year going best player available and landing a first round at pick 54. They did a great job, but these five teams impressed the hell out of me as well. This is how I evaluate a draft. You hopefully hit three to four starters in your draft. These five teams did that and I think they will be solid players for years to come.

Carolina Panthers – Everyone is dogging them because they went all defense but listen it was worth it. They just stacked up on D. Panthers drafted Derrick Brown in the first who is the best defensive tackle in the draft, then followed it up with Penn State pass rusher Yetur Gross-Matos. Both of these kids are going to play for a long time. Then they drafted Jeremy Chinn, the most athletic safety in the draft. They didn’t stop there though. They drafted XFL safety Kenny Robinson who was a beast for ST. Louis BattleHawks and then somehow landed the speedy cornerback Troy Pride out of Notre Dame. On paper they killed this draft.

Cleveland Browns – I love what the Browns are doing. Going OL in the first round is smart you have to find help on the front to protect Baker. Jedrick Wills is a big boy with a mean streak. He is a solid player, who adds a mauling mentality to that line. Then they traded back in the second and still landed Grant Delpit, this could have been the best move in the draft. This kid is a steal. They added defensive line help with Mizzou DT Jordan Elliott but I was more impressed with them taking TE Harrison Bryant and WR Donovan Peoples-Jones. I feel both will be solid for the Brownies!

Dallas Cowboys – Is you said who had the best overall draft this is my answer. CeeDee Lamb then Trevon Diggs back to back is gross. But they didn’t stop there. They landed Canadian DL Neville Gallimore and hogmolly Tyler Biadasz who will replace Travis Frederick. Then they somehow land Reggie Robinson from Tulsa and Bradley Anae super late. Listen this Cowboys draft was damn near perfect. They crushed it!

New Orleans Saints – The Saints has four picks and three will likely be long term starters and get playing time this year. They landed Cesar Ruiz who is a starting center, Adam Trautman who is a superstar tight end in the making and my favorite pick Zach Baun who should have been a first rounder. Saints killed it then they signed Jameis Winston after the draft and drafted Tommy Stevens to eventually replace Brees.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – I do not like Tom Brady as a Bills fan, but if this team is revitalized in Tampa. It is like Tom is making everyone around him better already. He has not even taken a snap, but even the scouts are drafting better. They went OL Tristan Wirfs in the first time get Tom protection. Huge steal, then to me their next four picks can all start tomorrow. Antoine Winfield Jr, is a dog who had a great career at Minnesota. The Bucs then added another Minnesota player in Tyler Johnson. Everyone is down on this kid but mark my words he is one of the best wide outs in this draft. He will play the slot and probably score more than 5 tds this year. The Bucs added two running backs in Ke’Shawn Vaughn and Raymond Calais this is where they needed help. They have positive reinforcement now. The last pick that to me was a steal was Khalil Davis the fastest fat man in the draft. A 4.7 forty at 300 pounds is ridiculous. Give the Bucs a hand they did it!
