XFL key match-ups to watch in week 5
Seattle Dragons at Houston Roughnecks
PJ Walker and the Roughnecks WRs vs the Dragons Secondary
If the Dragons have any chance of winning this game it is because the secondary will shut down the WRs and make Walker have to find openings. If Walker is able to get the ball to his recievers it’s going to be a very lopsided Roughnecks win.
New York Guardians at Dallas Renegades
Guardians Defensive Line vs the Renegades Offensive Line
I feel like this might be the most interesting matchup in this game. The Renegades are going to have to stop the Guardians from pressuring Phillip Nelson who has to start after Landry Jones got injured. The Guardians have Cavon Walker and Jarrell Owens who can really get to the quarterback and if they do Nelson and the Renegades are going to have a tough time.
Saint Louis Battlehawks at DC Defenders
Battlehawks run game vs the Defenders run defense
Both sides have come off of bad games. Can the Defenders stop Matt Jones and Christine Michael that’s a tough question. They were terrible at stopping the Vipers RBs . On the flip side will Matt Jones and Christine Michael get back on the right track. Either way I would think this seems like something that will win or lose the game for whoever is more successful.
Tampa Bay Vipers at LA Wildcats
Josh Johnson and his recievers vs the Vipers Secondary
I think that this is strength vs strength. Josh Johnson has been awesome at finding his recievers especially Tre McBride. The Vipers secondary has played so well and is good. If Johnson is able to find his recievers that causes trouble for the Vipers. If the Vipers shut down the WRs I don’t really know if the Wildcats could win.
