Draft Diamonds NFL Award Winner Predictions

If Lamar Jackson does not win the MVP of the season, something is wrong.

Most Valuable Player: Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens

I have to give it to Lamar Jackson, but if Patrick Mahomes wins the Super Bowl this is going to be very hard. I think what Lamar Jackson did this year in his second year was impressive. Every time he stepped on the field he was in control. He killed teams with his legs and his arm, I think he deserves it!

Offensive Player of the Year: Michael Thomas, WR, New Orleans Saints

The guy was unstoppable this year, while people could give this to Lamar Jackson too, I think I have to give it to Thomas. I mean the guy set a new record for most receptions in a single season. He deserves this award, and I feel great handing it to him.

Defensive Player of the Year: Chandler Jones, DE, Arizona Cardinals

As you know I am not a huge fan of Stephon Gilmore, but he was pretty damn impressive this year. For me to say that takes a lot, but he did finish with 6 picks and 20 PBU’s, but Chandler Jones finished with 19 sacks this year. That is far more impressive in my opinion. I have to give it to Chandler!

Offensive Rookie of the Year: Josh Jacobs, RB, Las Vegas Raiders

Josh Jacobs had 1,150 yards breaking several franchise records for the Raiders. I am giving it to Jacobs and feel he topped all other players including first overall pick Kyler Murray.

Defensive Rookie of the Year: Nick Bosa, DL, San Francisco 49ers

Bosa helped the Niners turn the team all the way around. The Niners went from one of the top picks in the NFL Draft to the Super Bowl. If they win it all they will need a huge game from Bosa, and I would not be shocked if he showed up and showed out at the Super Bowl.

Comeback Player of the Year: Ryan Tannehill, QB, Tennessee Titans

I was going to give this to Jimmy Garoppolo, but let’s face it Ryan Tannehill deserves this award. I mean so many thought he would never turn his career around but he looked like a super star for the Titans. I thought Tannehill was so impressive, so I’m giving it to him.

Coach of the Year: Kyle Shanahan – San Francico 49ers

The Niners were 4-12 in 2018, and became the third team to advance to a Super Bowl after winning four-or-fewer games the prior season. If that doesn’t speak for itself, I cannot help you. I feel Coach Shanahan deserves this award.
