NFL Draft
Could the NFL have 8 WR’s drafted in the 1st round this year?

The NFL has had 7 wide receivers drafted twice over the history of the NFL Draft, and this year there could be a new record set. The first time this happened was in 1984 for the Supplemental Draft of USFL and CFL players entering the NFL.
1984u | 1 | 1 | 9 | 9 | Joey Jones | Falcons | Alabama |
2 | 1 | 16 | 16 | Ricky Sanders | Patriots | Southwest Texas State
3 | 1 | 20 | 20 | Alphonso Williams | Lions | Nevada
4 | 1 | 23 | 23 | Duane Gunn | Steelers | Indiana
5 | 1 | 24 | 24 | Derrick Crawford | 49ers | Memphis State
6 | 1 | 26 | 26 | Danny Knight | Dolphins | Mississippi State
7 | 1 | 28 | 28 | Chris Woods | Raiders | Auburn |
You probably owner remember one of those players, but this also happened one other time. That was in 2004, when Larry Fitzgerald entered the NFL Draft.
2004 | 1 | 1 | 3 | 3 | Larry Fitzgerald | Cardinals | Pittsburgh |
2 | 1 | 7 | 7 | Roy Williams | Lions | Texas
3 | 1 | 9 | 9 | Reggie Williams | Jaguars | Washington
4 | 1 | 13 | 13 | Lee Evans | Bills | Wisconsin
5 | 1 | 15 | 15 | Michael Clayton | Buccaneers | Louisiana State
6 | 1 | 29 | 29 | Michael Jenkins | Falcons | Ohio State
7 | 1 | 31 | 31 | Rashaun Woods | 49ers | Oklahoma State |
This year the draft is packed with top talent wide receivers. According to CBS Sports rankings, they have 8 players in the top 40 draft picks who are wide receivers and I have seen all of them in Mock Drafts so far.
6 | Jerry Jeudy | Alabama | Jr | WR | 1 | 6-1 | 192
7 | CeeDee Lamb | Oklahoma | Jr | WR | 2 | 6-2 | 189

So here is my question, could 8 teams draft a wide receiver in the 2020 NFL Draft? What do you think? Is it possible?
