Roger Goodell needs to treat the Patriots organization the same way he treated Vontaze Burfict

What will Roger Goodell do to the New England Patriots for cheating a third time in Bill Belichick’s career? They need a harsh punishment but what is fair?

The New England Patriots still have great odds to win the Super Bowl according to pa online gambling, but the problem is not if they can get there, it is how they get there. The Patriots are known for cheating. They love to do little things to help them get over on the next team. From Deflategate to Spygate to Spygate 2 now. The Patriots are not afraid to do whatever they can to get the upper hand.

The problem is, why are players held to a higher standard by Roger Goodell?

Vontaze Burfict was kicked out of the league this season for a hit on Jack Doyle in which Goodell deemed unnecessary and bad for the game. Now, Roger Goodell is facing another big situation. He is always harsh on the players and guys like Vontaze Bufict, but now you have a coach and an organization that has been cheating not only once but multiple times.

I hear many saying why did the Patriots need to cheat against the Bengals who have only one game. That is really simple. They had to cheat and watch film of their hand signals because their coach is brand new. They have a new coach and needed to make sure they did not lose to the 1-10 Bengals when they faced them. So what they did was film their hand signals hoping they could the upper hand on a team they should have smashed anyways.

The Patriots have been known to scout hand signals in the past, they were caught red handed in 2007 when filming the Jets sidelines. The Spygate report said they loved to scout the Dolphins and Bills because they used the same hand signals all the time.

So what will the Commissioner do?

That is the question I think we all should be asking ourselves. We all seen the video that Jay Glazer captured showing the Patriots guy filming the sidelines of the Bengals. Shoot earlier this year during a week 4 game against the Bills, the Patriots staff members were ran off the Bills sidelines after they were taking notes. The Patriots have been labeled as cheaters by the NFL, and suspended for it, but they were not concerned about the punishment. Shoot if this would have been another team what would have happened?

The Patriots always get a pass, whatever happened to Robert Kraft? I mean earlier this year he was busted in a prostitution ring in Florida. If that would have been a player he would have been fined and suspended. Shoot they blackball Colin Kaepernick for kneeling.

I mean the players have it way worse, and they are always getting the wrong end of the stick. Greg Hardy and Ray Rice lost their opportunities to return yet Tyreek Hill, Adrian Peterson and Joe Mixon continue to play. The leagues is not just. They do things all the time to benefit the league, and not the players or the teams. The Saints received the largest punishment ever in sports besides SMU being given the Death Penalty.

The Saints coach was suspended a year, their GM for six months, they gave up draft picks, I mean they were crushed for Bounty Gate, yet the Patriots have cheated multiple times and nothing really happens. So they fine a millionaire and they take a draft pick from them. What else? This is not their first offense.

The NFL does a lot of crappy stuff to players, but the owners and the teams always get a pass. Think of this, the Patriots were caught cheating by the Bengals and Bills. That was two different games this year, so here is my question, how many more methods of cheating do they have?

The NFL has to do something and if they are not going to do something, then just admit they cheat and move on.

In 2007, the Patriots were caught recording the Jets hand signals and they were punished.

In 2007, after the Spygate scandal, the Patriots were fined $250,000, Belichick was fined $500,000, and the organization was docked its first-round pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. That many thought was harsh, but they turn around and 12 years later do it again to a team that has only one 1 game.

If you look at 2016, the Patriots were caught again in Deflategate. In 2016, after Deflategate, the Patriots were fined $1 million, Brady was suspended four games, and the organization was docked two draft picks: their No. 1 selection in the 2016 NFL Draft and their fourth-rounder in 2017. That was harsher than the last, but this is the third time folks.

I think the Patriots should be banned from the Playoffs this year, and the Bills should win the division. Ok, I am a Bills fan, I’m just kidding, but they should be held to a higher standard.

The Patriots continually are caught cheating, and they continually win. So you have to sometimes ask yourself, how much more can they get away with? The NFL has to do something about this. They are laughing in the Commissioner’s face and he is not doing anything to stop it.

Mr. Goodell you have to step up. You like putting harsh penalties on players, well it is time to put your foot down on the Patriots, or just let them keep doing it and do not fine them at all. Either do your job, or let them cheat.
